witness to His resurrection

Christ is alive
because he rose
witness to His resurrection
raised from the dead

We stand here saved, alive
redeemed from damnation
because Christ came to earth
because he suffered and died

We are to testify, to share
to witness to His life
to the death and of Christ
God’s offering for us

Witness to His resurrection
his life after life
ascended to heaven
seated beside God

To accept the call, commission
nameless, disciples, followers
offering our lives, our all
in the service of our Lord

Praying over them – v2

As a parent, lovingly
tendering, as if over their beds,
as they were drifting off
as they were going to sleep
Perhaps as a man going
leaving on a trip, leaving
praying over his children’s beds
as they drift to sleep

Praying over them
Christ before the disciples
as they gathered together
before he left their presence
preparing them, praying
lifting them up to the Father
praying for his protection
of all his children here

Seeing it appear
Knowing it is right
Clear, concise

Embodiment,
Momentarily,
Of mind’s eye
and fleeting thought

Gone in an instant
captured, frozen
in mid-thought

by Roberta Woods – “Love it! You've captured the essence of writing not as a discipline but as joy.
And it is because it is pure joy (the agony comes later during revision)
it is not a discipline in the sense of having rigid edges. All doing from joy is a gift
to the doer as well as the recipient whether cooking, writing, gardening or any other activity.
My joy activities are writing and carpentry.
All the rest require me to have discipline to get them done. –Roberta”
