were you there - 2

were you there
in that broken mess
the walls of the car
stove in, crushed
the plate inside
were you there
when I reached
the back seat
holding your brains
in my hands

two weeks

do they have two weeks
for deliberation, bombast
what of the children
if he bombs them
in the next two weeks
what of the innocents
those caught in the middle
do they have this time
these two weeks

time to prepare

time to prepare
to harden his bunkers
to move the munitions
to deploy the armies
to loose the bombs
to kill more innocents
while the world dithers
talks about his atrocities
the enemy made ready
when the strikes come
the dead on the ground

He loved us - 2

we did not love him
He loved us
gave his Son
our Savior
the Messiah
the Chosen One
to lift, to redeem us
to seal the breach
to bring us to him
God loved us that much
