broken but useful in God’s hand

we are broken, shattered

we are failures in the eyes of man

in the chattering voices of gossip

in the shadows, in the darkness

in the wilderness, in the world

we are broken, we have failed

we may be broken, shattered

but we are useful in God’s hand

in the hand of the Potter

the healer able to redeem us

to remold, to mend us

our brokenness, shattered

still worthy, useful

in the hand of God
