Arthur

Wait ‘till next year
Murmur/ Mantra in a knowing tone -
He’d seen the magic -
World Champions

Bleacher seats
Train ride
When it was our game
Before Ruth wore stripes

Sixty plus years
Puritan patience
Furrowed brow
Wistful hope

Wait ‘till next year
Warm worn cloak
I still wear
Twenty plus years hence
