What Did He Mean

(to fish for people)

The Lord, speaking to them
after his teaching,
after their catch swamped their boats
calling them from the sea
to fish for mean instead

What did he really mean
this is not made clear
but they followed at his command
leaving all behind

Going when they were called
changing their lives that day
answering the master’s call
his disciples they became
