Sleeping in the Garden

While Christ prayed
the disciples, their eyes heavy
sleeping in the garden
even though the master said
to stay awake

Our spirits willing
wanting to follow
respond to the master’s voice
to do our savior’s work
but our bodies, made of clay
falling to sleep
