Teamed with Others

Teamed with others
down through history
all of us leading
in the body of Christ

Each of us charged
given gifts for the work
strengthened by the others
under the yoke of Christ

Sharing one mission
one calling in this life
to be Christ for others
who we meet on earth

Bringing his message
God’s unconditional love
poured out in the sacrifice
the son on the cross

Healing our brokenness
that we may live again
walking the streets of heaven
as brothers and friends

Yoked with Others

Maybe as our shepherd
the handler of the oxen
yoked with my sisters and brothers
that we would act as a team
serving our Lord

Christ’s voice calling
gently to us
lovingly urging
with his grace leading
where we need to go

Not with a whip
or loud incessant shouting
Guiding the body
the fields ready
in service to the world
