Lethargic Worship

Here in this season
in waiting in Advent
Awaken our spirits
our heart
from lethargic worship
from lukewarm devotion
from our focus on the world
not on the risen Christ

Refocus in Advent
on the coming Christ-child
from the ways of this world
to the way of the cross
Lead us to Bethlehem
kneeling by his manger
to see the face of God
in that humble baby boy
