How Were They Changed

I wonder about the people
standing in the water
dripping on the shore
of the Jordan River

The disciples of John
those who would follow
the ones from the city
coming out of form

How were they changed
by what happened
when Christ came to John
and was baptized in the Jordan

Did they all hear the announcement
did they see the rending of the curtain
the voice of God from heaven
and the descending of the dove
