Freedom comes with a price

The founders knew so well
something we sometimes forget
that freedom comes with a price
something worth fighting for yet

We must remember
the sacrifice for us
the cost of so many for us
the idea of America

Remain ever vigilant
the cost of freedom endless
so easy to forget
sitting comfortable in our houses

While others are in the dark places
defending us from outside forces
which wish to tear down our fortress
the dream of this place
