A people who knew of God

Christ came to earth
to teach about love
coming down, descending
leaving his royal throne

A people who knew of God
of his law, a code
a way of living righteous
in wonder and in awe

Yet Christ came to them
to teach about love
coming down from on high
to change their hearts, their path
to help them to know God
