Acid of our Words

Hardly true, that words will never hurt us,
the opposite the truth,
there is acid in our words, our choices
what we say to one another
scars from the vomit
permanent marks remaining
years needed for healing
sometimes longer yet
What we say has consequence
our sin, the bile within,
what comes out of us pollutes
leaving lasting marks
