In the sand before Mary

Christ writing in the sand
before the feet of Mary
the leaders, the people
prepared to pass judgment
ready to judge her
to stone her to death

Jesus writing in the sand
was it God’s judgment
for all that they had done
in the book of life
not to cast their stones
unless they were righteous

the stones falling to the ground
soon alone with Mary.
