Forsaken – 2 - v2

knowing the words
the whole psalm, the promise
yet we speak with Christ
the petition of the psalmist

why have you forsaken me
my Father, my God
why do you let them hurt me
my enemies, in the night

how can you let them get away
with their crimes, their sin
I call to you desperate
yet I don’t hear from you

I long for your presence
to be palpable to me
to know you are beside me
whatever else will be

I read this the day it was published. October 9 is my birthday. I did a search for "forsaken by God too long," and I found it. It is the forbidden subject that no Christian (or devout person of any faith) will broach. Thank you for having the courage to broach it.
