our tongues a prism



our tongues a prism
fracturing bits of light
truly tasting the rainbow, colors
or an auditory thought
senses merging, joining,
diverging in the brain
smelling, tasting
the words once again

series of poems based on
segment on how babies,
when they are wearing a brain cap,
to do EEG measurements, don’t always
have the visual cortex light up
when they see something but sometimes
have the auditory cortex light up,
as if they are hearing the image, the colors.
at about 6:15 minutes to about 8:45  minutes
