Joining Christ in the Garden – v2

Our lives changed
in falling in the waters
in dying to ourselves
rising on wings like eagles
to do our master’s work

But joining Christ in the Garden
if we are to be God’s servants
working in the field
that there would be
a harvest for the Lord

Falling on our knees
humbly, in prayer
approaching the throne of grace
like Christ submitting our lives
to God’s holy plan

Offering ourselves as a sacrifice
following the way of the cross
emptying our lives of ourselves
going forth to serve
proclaiming the way of the Christ

Gethsemane

In this place, in the garden
prayers after the meal, into the night
prayers to the father, his plan revealed
Human fear, a foretaste of pain
Choosing the destiny the prophets foretold.
