with warning

announcing our intent
our resolve, broadcast
many days, many hours
far in advance
a surgical strike
targeted, with warning
plenty of time to hide
to protect his army
his munitions, his power
in the cloak of the mosques
the planes lifted
the airfields depleted
what will we strike
is it all just for show
a surgical strike
with advanced warning
