each a work of art – v3

reading the pages
specialized assistance
plans for each one
to unlock the mystery
to reach their potential
precious jewels within the stones

lives bursting to shine
reading between the lines
the struggles maybe, but
words of success, of triumph
the aspirations of their parents
and for us the same

describing only in part
young lives we are touching
none of them a blank slate
with history, emotion
adding color and texture
each a living painting

layer upon layer, adding
as each grows into the person
they are meant to be
adding what we can
our part, their journey,
seeking to set them free

hidden sculptures
within the stones
the layers, history
each one beautiful
waiting to emerge
to stand on their own feet

within the stones, hidden
treasure of great worth
each one a work of art
coming into focus, into view
yearning to break free
to burst forth, to fly
