stout members intersected
an altar of God
the cross of Jesus
fashioned from the wood
raised up toward heaven
the place where they placed
him
a sacrifice for us
the tree now empty
Christ died, raised up
seated in heaven
now the empty cross
an altar of God
a reminder of God’s love
a tree made worthy
by the blood of the Christ
