When Judas left the room
and ran to the Temple
Evil stalked the night
a sinister presence building
blotting out the Light
Gathered up in the night
Christ, the Messiah,
arrested in darkness
a kangaroo court, judgment
now on God’s chosen people
Bound, condemned
by His own people
given over to Caesar, to Pilate,
Light of the world, the Messiah
to die a violent death
