more to dream – v8

still not finished
our creed, our aspirations
more to dream, to hope for,
in this land, opportunity
land of the pilgrims
of the slaves, the servants
of the righteous, the fallen
those who were martyrs
so much more to do, to achieve,
but it is within our power
our choice to be complacent
or to stand in courage
our time, our place
it is our decision, truly,
more to dream, to strive for
to stand as one people
no to the tyrants, to those
who would subjugate our people
