but this is not our task

the prayer of believers
to be Christ’s hands and feet
hard to raise this pray
as he chose the cross
to open wide his arms
to take on the sins of man
but we are to remember
that this offering was for all
once and for all time
this is not our task
other work to be done
our shoulder to the plow
in the yoke of Christ
going forth as he did
out into the world
