the spiritual battle
we don’t normally see
described by the angel
to Daniel in a dream
God heard his prayers
persistent, humble,
God sent an angel
to answer his prayer
but lesser gods
called down demons
to thwart the angel
God sent Michael
to defeat the enemy
the spiritual battle
in the heavenly realm
the devil and his minions
keeping us on the ground
