With Fireworks – v3

Not like in the summer
With fireworks, parades, with speeches
when we honor them, each year.
Remembering them,
for what they gave
their lives for freedom
so that we would remain free.

We still pause, today, in this season
to think about that the dream that is America
that it would remain strong.
We stop and bow in prayer
for their lives lost, injured,
for those still out in the fields,
so that we may live free.
