that lonely six hours – v2

for Mary, for Jesus

that long night become morning

the day excruciating

leading to the death of our Savior

that lonely six hours

the vigil of the cross

nothing she could do

but to stand there and watch

wanting to cry out, to shout,

“stop this madness,

you are killing the Messiah,

the One long foretold;”

but they wouldn’t have listened

she had no standing

all she could do, her place,

was to stand there and watch.
