someone pisses on our joy – v2

Someone pisses on our joy
our zeal for real worship;
Someone tried to quench
God’s fire within each one of us.

We get mad, we get angry,
when this happens;
We want to join them
down in the muck, the mire.

Don’t let them quench
don’t let them blow out the Spirit;
Come, return, truly,
to your first love.

The love of God
the Spirit breathing,
beating within us;
God is our hope forever,
one love over all.
