she was afraid to talk

she didn’t know how to share
to be open, honest, fully
she was afraid to talk
to be fully revealing
to be transparent
about her pain,
about her feelings
she wanted to believe
to take a risk, to be open
but she was afraid to talk
she had been hurt too often
