working that same itch

over and over again;

forever frozen, fearful

my thumbprint in my worry stone

carving a trench, a groove,

like water chipping rock

in our fear we are frozen

unable to serve, to work

for the kingdom, for God;

holding onto our past,

our history, the stones

we carry in this life, our walk
