There was a period of time when this church was changing its doctrines. The minister would give sermons each week explaining the changes and why the new teaching was correct.

Some people accepted the changes and stayed in the church, and some people left to keep the old teaching and organized new churches.

One person said that there were two reactions people had when then they returned home after a sermon was given that changed doctrine. Some people picked up their phones and some picked up their Bibles. Those who picked their phones wanted to know what their friends and other members thought of the new doctrines. Those who picked up their Bibles wanted to know what God thought about the new doctrines.

One point I made recently in my blog is that when we read the Bible we have to be willing to believe what God says if we want to understand the Bible. We need God's help to understand the Bible, and God gives help to those who are willing to believe and obey Him. Sometimes God tests a person that way, showing a Bible reader a point of truth in the Bible that is different from what the person believed before. If the person believes God more than his traditions or opinions and obeys God on that point, God can then help that person understand more. As we believe and obey everything God shows us in the Bible, God can help us understand the Bible one point at a time. But at some point if we disbelieve God and choose our own opinions or traditions, interpreting the Bible to fit what we want to believe, the understanding stops.author@ptgbook.orghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13775228362728122027noreply@blogger.com
