The new candle tarts,
ready for the winter season
shared by the shopper yesterday,
the fruits of her labor, presented one by one
so many scent memories flowed from my memory
of the fir forest, the balsam wood,
the nutmeg and cinnamon from her kitchen
from the hot cider, the pumpkin pie,
the winter potpourri
Smell rekindling, connecting earlier times
in my life with right now
How sweet is memory that is conjured
with the smell of pine, of harvest, of home
