In the Lee

Around town,
as the snow melted in the yards,
by the streets,
browning white
Pristine white remained
cloistered, away from arms’ reach
high above,
in the lee of dormers,
crevasses in roofs, the lee of the
angles, pitch, on the flashing
high above, pockets
of clean white snow
