A Day in Court

A certain air of peace
Washed over them
For a moment at least
They had had their
Day in court,
A chance to say their piece
To make their arguments,
To say what they would,
Even knowing the flaws,
The admissions on cross-examination
They were happy, settled
Because they were heard.
