Black Velour

He sat quietly, patiently it seemed
wrapped in black velour
new purchase, or at least well maintained
Sitting, up on the box from his shopping
A sweat suit that never saw exercise
velour beret perched on his brow
covering his thinning hair
Waiting on the grassy margin
of the parking lot
What was he waiting for,
where was he going
wrapped in black velour
against the November cold
