Captive Roses

beautiful, long stemmed,
perfect blooms, captive blooms
in the vases, of gifts of love
from her, from me, from them
giving in love, captured on
the digital screen, the memory card,
the ether emulsion
of this new age
images of beauty,
preserved in the camera
to be shared, remembered
into the future
long after the bud fades
