Baptized by Fire

Not by water, not by blood,
not by a dove descending from heaven
they were baptized by a heavenly fire
not a refining fire, a trial by fire
an anointing fire, enabling each one
to speak with power, with boldness
empowered by the living spirit
to be Christ’s messengers of love
