An Open Table

Hearing Christ’s own words,
his humble example
the lamb, the priest
the sacrifice, the master
offering himself
to all, to those who would believe
to those who would doubt,
even to those who would deny,
who would betray,
to those who would reject him
an open table, arms open wide
one cup, one bread
