This night, especially this night
feeling you, Lord
sitting beside me in the pew
wanting only to take his hand
he is beside us, each one
walking, leading us
his face toward Jerusalem
our steps, yoked together
leading us to that day
the fated day upon the cross
leading us still, onward
toward the cross, beyond the grave
leading us, if we but call his name
leading us, to a place in glory
Oh, I can feel his hand
resting on my shoulder
upon my disquiet
the balm, the ashes
the assurance, with him
on this mortal, Lenten journey
