Fruits of the Vine

Smiling faces, the running feet
squealing voices, the happy smiles
sitting, squirming, in the pews
at the feet of the master
in our arms this morning
the children of the world,
of our congregation
the fruits of the vine
the harvest yet to come
the living church,
they are the church of today
one of our reasons for existing
the vine growing, the branches abiding
the vine, the body, the church universal
bearing up, raising up, the fruits of the vine
