My Voice Rising

The words, this story, of his life,
of the proof of the Savior
of the coming of the Messiah.

This story, this moment,
the passing of the promise of John
the words he cried out in the wilderness
being revealed in this moment.

In this powerful witness,
the acts he was performing
declaring too, plainly
to these disciples of John.

My voice rising, joy flowing over me
these ancient words, the words of fulfillment
of the love of God, he example of the Son
welling up in me, pouring out
joy not to be contained.

Seeing the faces of the congregation
joining me in this mystery
the unfolding of this witness
of the Savior making himself known.

Together in worship, a congregation joining
centering in the wonder of the proof of the Messiah
revealed in the acts of his ministry
this Son of God, made known
in the touch of his hand
the power of his word.

Call to Worship:
Let us praise God, the creator of heaven and Earth.
Let us seek God with open minds and open hearts.
May we feel the Holy spirit among us.
As the Scriptures are read and the Word proclaimed,
as prayers and music are offered, may we receive with
joy and thanksgiving what is offered for us.
Unison Prayer:
Almighty God, to you all hearts are open, all
desires known, and from you no secrets are
hidden. Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the
inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may love
you with our whole self, and worthily praise your
holy name. Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Luke 7:17-22
Prayer of Dedication:
Loving God, the giver of all that is good; our lives
are blessed daily by your gifts. Help us to receive
your gifts with such gratitude, that we will be giving,
as you are to us. We pray that through us the whole
world will know the gift of your generous love in
Jesus Christ, the one who gave his life for us, and for
the whole world.
