The Seeds of Pentecost

The fire of your love, the roaring Spirit
falling upon us, into our hearts
the seeds of Pentecost
planted within us
changing us, transforming, conforming
giving us power,
passion, a conviction
to do the master’s will,
to go when we are called
seeds growing, day by day
fed by your word, nurtured by your saints
rising up within us, to do what we can
in our time, in our place
our part of the world,
planting seeds ourselves
from the wellspring of our hearts
the bit of the Spirit
living within you and me
