The Faith Remained

This people, this nation
broken and scattered
their home, their land taken
faith remaining, deep within them
the power of these words,
more than comfort
assurance, not of their work
of their deeds
confidence in the love of God
his faithfulness forever
the abundance of his grace
life anew, a new thing coming
ever sure of the future
a place with our creator
