Holy One of God

The singular, holy one of God
so was the wisdom
the urgency of Peter’s response
Christ, the teacher, his master
offering life in the power
the majesty of his words
spirit, words of eternity
bread, wine, water,
the harvest to come
the road to the cross
the vineyard, the fields
walking with the Lord
gaining discernment
step by step
knowing, in part
at whose feet he sat
