All of Our Treasure

All of our treasure
all our possessions
all of the things
that get in the way

Our savior’s message
to the rich man before us
something clear and urgent
to sell and give it all away

Our treasure of the kingdom
not of this earth below
we shouldn’t store up in our garners
we have work here and now

To give to our neighbors
those in need and hurting
to follow the master
wherever he should lead

All that holds us
that keeps us from the journey
anything that leads us
away from the cross

Hard words of the savior
the world right side up
our hearts the pearl, the treasure
which God seeks from us

Go and sell,
and give away our trinkets
they are dust of the earth
the treasure of man
