A Blanket of Moss

The cold wet granite
smooth over the ages
wrapped in the warmth
a blanket of moss
draped by the hands
the loving hands of the creator
caring for something
as simple as rock
Our day of communion
out into the forest
sensing the presence of God
by out sides
Out in the forest
away from the hectic
the busyness of daily life
A glimpse of God’s providing
even for the bit of the earth
warmed by the blanket
shimmering in the weak light
