never satisfied, disquiet in our spirits
what we have, who we are
defined by our possessions
our storehouses full
our larders, our garners
possessions, never enough
a tale of our society, so many of us
in this consumer world
so far from the intentions of God
our lives defined by our hearts
by how we give of ourselves
how closely we cleave, cling
to our savior’s life
his example of service
of caring, of trusting in God
so different, our lives,
our contentment
if we help close to God
and let go of our stuff
