Seeing Eyes

not blind faith, they acted
with seeing eyes, perceiving
understanding, at least in part
what faith truly is
believe not with our outward, our physical senses
deeper, much deeper, within our hearts
a knowing so few of us enjoy
this depth of faith
demonstrated palpably
defying the king in his presence
humbly committed to our God
answering to him alone
while the fiery furnace waited
their human fate at risk
but their hearts assured
cleaving to their faith in God
