A Holy Lent

The words entering into worship
prayers from the pulpit
that we would observe a holy Lent
with disciplines of old
renewing our faith in Christ

Calling us to change our way
the moments of our days
during the forty-day season

Reflecting on our savior
coming face to face with our lives
changing from our evil ways

Repenting and prayer
fasting and self-denial
reading and meditation
on God’s holy scriptures
coming closer to God
