For This

This week, the culmination
the seed prepared, the ground ready
the wheat cut,
the seed falling
buried in the ground
ready to burst into life

For this
he came
that we would hear him
that our faith would grow
as we saw the love of God

Dying that we
no more would be mired here
walking in the clay
all of our days

Ripe, ready for the harvest
the seed dying
that we would burst forth
a harvest for the Lord
