Remaining Silent

Christ before them
the living God
standing in their presence
on a path, silent
submitting to their power

Remaining silent
not responding to the falsehoods
the lies they brought forward
unable to convict him
no two alike

Only in answering
swearing to the testimony
affirming he was the living God
come to reclaim his people

Killing our savior
fulfilling all of the scripture
the law and prophets
embodied in the Christ

no more false claims
Guilty as charged for speaking
for claiming to be the son of God
Blasphemy, in naming the truth

as the prophets foretold
