The tempter in the garden
stalking Christ with doubt
fears of his suffering
that he may turn from his path
Bowing, praying
crying out to our father
gathering strength from prayer
that God’s will would be done
Only cleaving to our creator
the voice of the spirit
beating within
able to be faithful
to our heavenly call
Like Jesus in the garden
we too can always turn
gaining strength
in prayers to our father
he will answer our cries
